The material being cut is S50C, with a machining depth of 9mm (internal water-soluble 2MPa)! Horizontal machining center evaluation case.
We would like to introduce a case study on the evaluation of horizontal machining centers (M/C) regarding the positional accuracy of long drill holes using our product "Pentagon."
The workpiece is S50C, and the equipment used is a horizontal M/C HSK63. The cutting conditions are as follows: pilot drill at Vc 50 m/min, f 0.15 mm/rev, with a machining depth of 9 mm (internal water-soluble 2 MPa), and long drill at Vc 80 m/min, f 0.2 mm/rev, with a machining depth of 90 mm through (internal water-soluble 2 MPa).
The results obtained with this product showed a positional accuracy within Φ0.008 to Φ0.020.
